Itinerary

Day 1: From Cusco to Tipon Piquillacta & Andahuaylillas return to Cusco

A tour of the South Valley of Cusco immerses you in the rich history of the region. The tour begins with pickup from your hotel between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. The first destination is the Tipón archaeological park, an impressive complex of Inca agricultural terraces with an advanced irrigation system. Next, we head to the pre-Inca city of Piquillacta, a vast archaeological site of the Wari culture.

We continue the tour with a stop at the Chapel of Andahuaylillas, known as the “Sistine Chapel of America” for its impressive frescoes and interior decoration. Finally, the tour concludes at the Cielo Punku Viewpoint to enjoy a panoramic view of the valley and the Huacarpay lagoon. The return to the city of Cusco is scheduled for approximately 2:30 p.m., completing a half-day journey through the history and beauty of the southern Andes.
